Disguised as a responsible adult

Marcy Horner has a Masters degree in Entomology, the study of bugs.  She has over thirty years experience as a cybrarian. She started using online databases for research in 1974, and has been on the Internet since 1992.  Her battered copies of Flora of the Pacific Northwest and Ethnobotany of Western Washington have been out in the woods with her since 1975.  She spent 10 years in Hawaii, diving and studying ocean life – both as a student and a commercial fisher. Writing nature guides for children is something she has wanted to do since she was seven years old.

Jack Green has a Masters degree in theatre and education.  He has been designing and directing creative children’s activities for over 40 years. He brings his knowledge of childhood education and sense of play to all of Laughing Two Owls’ endeavors.

Jennifer Titus is a graduate of The Evergreen State College. She has a dual Bachelor of Arts & Science degree in History & Anthropology.   She has specialized in the Classical World and using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in the study and research of the past.  Aside from her efforts on Polliwog’s Guides to the Natural World, Jennifer is currently working on several ‘choose your own adventure’ history books for children and young adults.  These adventures will take children through history in a way that will allow them to relate to peoples and events of the past.

James Titus is a current student of The Evergreen State College studying for his degree in the Natural Sciences with an emphasis on Ornithology and General Biology.  James has an excellent eye for catching animals in their natural environments and has spent many hours exploring nature with his family.

Together, James and Jennifer are the parents of a very curious and observant child who is the inspiration for the creation of the Polliwog’s Guides.  As parents, they spend hours reading, rereading and reviewing children’s books.
